Dear Artists:

On behalf of the Officers of the Winter Park Police Department, I want to welcome you to the 2021 Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival.  Our officers are here to assist you during your stay in Winter Park and look forward to working with you to make this a successful event.  In order to avoid confusion, we have prepared the following instructions to assist you in setting up your displays.

All artists will enter the festival area from the intersection of Park and Canton Avenues at the allowed times during the weekend.  No vehicles are allowed in Central Park or on the railroad side of Central Park to load or unload.  Please avoid areas that are not designed for vehicular traffic.  Please do not park or block the east (storefront) side of Park Avenue, as this area is a designated Fire Lane and must be kept open for emergency vehicle access.  Please remember that no pets are allowed in Central Park.

During Thursday’s scheduled load-in (8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.), access to artists’ parking on Park Avenue will be from Canton Avenue.  Please park along the parking lane located on the west (Central Park) side of Park Avenue to unload your art.  Immediately after unloading, artists should exit southbound via Park Avenue to Lyman Avenue.

Artists whose booths are on Park Avenue may start setting up at 5 a.m. Friday morning.  Access to Park Avenue will be from Canton Avenue.  Park Avenue will be closed to all other vehicular traffic, from this time until Sunday evening after load-out is completed.  ALL ARTISTS’ VEHICLES MUST EXIT PARK AVENUE BY 8:30 A.M. FRIDAY.

Artist parking is permitted in the City parking lots located at New York Avenue and Morse Boulevard.  Entry into the main paved artist parking lot will be via the Welbourne Avenue entrance.  Artist should have their parking pass displayed to expedite access into the parking area.  Spaces are limited and are available on a first-come basis.  Additional parking is located in the West Meadow which is the grass lot located at the intersection of Morse Boulevard and New York Avenue.  However, you will only be allowed one entry and one exit due to the preservation of the grass.

Your cooperation in these matters will be extremely helpful in assisting us to ensure the festival operates smoothly.  Again, should you need assistance, please contact a uniformed officer in the festival area.  My best wishes to you for a successful Art Festival.

Sincerely,

Michael Deal

Chief of Police
